Hubei Provincial Museum

Hubei Provincial Museum
Wuhan, China

This lacquered table was made for daily usage. People would sit in front of it while sitting on the ground. There are two plain squares surrounded by beast-face-patterns and the legs of the table are in shape of birds. All the parts of the table are connected with mortise and tenon. The various decorations and the complex structure make the table a nice daily object to look at.
