Hung excels in landscape painting in meticulous brushwork. In this work, he evokes the atmosphere of an ideal landscapes by skillfully assimilating the essence of the paintings of the Song and Ming dynasties with the colouring and modeling technique of the Lingnan School.

  • Artist's Biography: Hung learned painting from his father in Xiamen, China when he was young. After settling in Hong Kong in 1978, he learned painting under the tutelage of Yang Shanshen. Since 1984, Hung has been an instructor at the Department of Extramural Studies (now the School of Professional and Continuing Education) of The University of Hong Kong. He was a part-time lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Architecture, The University of Hong Kong.
