Description: This painting, characterized by a balanced chromatic sensibility, contains the characteristic elements of Tavella’s work, such as the well-defined lines of the headland in the background and the controlled and and delineated figures, similar to drawings by Alessandro Magnasco, who often collaborated with Tavella on his figures. The stylistic affinity with Cavalier Pietro Tempesta, with worked with Tavella from 1695 to 1701, and the composition, which is simpler than the painting of his mature phase, help date the painting to the first decade of the eighteenth century.
