A center-piece with three sections, the lower plinth supported by lions, upon which stands the human race in its primitive condition arranged around the foot of an oak tree. Above this are three female figures representing agriculture, horticulture, and viticulture, supporting a bowl with symbols of industry, the sciences, and the arts. From the bowl grows a palm tree, topped by a winged figure.
