Large drill with a narrow, elongated blade and a wide, flat base. Blade is retouched on both surfaces, cross-section is thick and diamond shaped. Base is very wide, shows some wear and chipping. Manufactured from a very fine-grained, medium brown chert. This drill was recovered from a habitation area at the site of Pueblo Grande. Pueblo Grande was a large village located at the headgates of a major canal system. Occupied as early as AD 500, the site reached its greatest extent during the Classic Period.
