"Sufficiently well composed." commented Latrobe on his depiction of Hastings at night. "The grey tint of the whole picture produces harmony in all its parts." Still, he was not pleased with his execution of the sky. "The prussian blue which I use, is bad, and ocassions the colors that are mixed with it to curdle."
