"This invention aims to use silk fabric or any other double- or plain-weave filament material in the design of hats for men and women. Use of this material allows the insertion of boning into any section of the hat to give additional rigidity to this part of the hat. Figure 1 shows a ladies' hat where the first four channels around the front and at the edges of the bonnet are fitted with boning. Figure 2 shows a man's hat with four adjoining channels fitted with boning. The upper part of the brim is covered with a second piece of double-weave fabric."
