Leo Stern

Full length portrait with cello. Born in Brighton in 1862, Stern studied cello at the Royal Academy of Music. He was a favourite musician of Queen Victoria, and would become closely associated with Antonín Dvořák after a visit to Prague, who appointed him as the soloist for the premiere of his Cello Concerto in B minor.
