Honoured Sir! I had intended to visit you in the Royal College today to thank you personally for your kind letter, but at the last minute was prevented from doing so by important German matters which had to be dealt with immediately. If it is at all possible for me I will come there on Friday afternoon to discuss with you what, in our presentday telegraphic era, can no longer be put in writing.
