[inglês][datilografado] My dear Portinari: Imagine my surprise and embarrassment when I was notified from my other office that a package sent to you was returned because of wrong address and an inquiry for your proper address. What happened was the following: I sent you a letter thanking you from the bottom of my heart for your very wonderful contribution towards the Dona Darcy Charity benefit which I gave at the St. Regis. As you saw from the announcement, I used your good and beautiful effort as a sample of your magnificent work. As to the other drawing, I just did not have time to have it framed, consequently could not auction it off, so I sent it back. But imagine where – Candido Portinari – Seattle, Washington! No wonder you never got it. Although belayed, please accept my heartfelt thanks and my very best wishes for you and Madame Portinari for this young new year. Your friend, M Botelho P. S.
