Choreographer: James Vincent
Based on the music of Vivaldi, which was the inspiration for the movements, this ballet by James Vincent reveals a baroque character. The choreographer has a preference for the baroque period. Therefore, he appropriated some basic figures and themes of the court dances of that time. Although these figures are very simple and the dances of that period contain little movement, Vincent managed to compose a varied dance pattern.
The decor and costumes, designed by Keso Dekker, are also influenced by baroque. As suggested by the ballet’s title, the light plan is rather important. It is not a dramatic ballet: overall the music, decor and costumes provide this ballet with a light and charming atmosphere.
