Lily Nie
Founder, Chinese Children Adoption International
1963 -
INDUCTED 2008

Lily Nie grew up in China during Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution, and has devoted her life in Colorado to uplifting children from her homeland.

When Lily and her husband Josh founded Chinese Children Adoption International in 1992, Nie brought twenty abandoned orphans to Colorado. The organization has since placed more than 11,000 Chinese children, mostly abandoned girls, with American families. Lily Orphan Care Centers and other charities bring hope and care to orphans in China, as well as the U.S. Lily Nie’s groundbreaking work in adoption in Colorado paved the way for a national movement that has brought more than 70,000 adopted Chinese children to new lives in the United States.
