Literary University in Barcelona

The historic building of the University of Barcelona, and popularly known as "La Central", initially called the Literary University building, was built between 1863 and 1889, and began teaching activity in 1871. Located in the Plaza de la Universidad, it housed for almost a century the majority of the faculties and university schools of the city, divided between the Patio de Letras and the Patio de Ciencias.
