When translated, the Swedish word 'Livnära' means to feed or to maintain oneself. Johan Inger interpers livnära as being closer to life.

“The structure of my new ballet is based on control in two ways. In the first place, everybody is trying to control his own life, but at the same time, humans try to control their surroundings. These days, we are conscious of nature, the environment, and the importance of it. With a big cactus on stage, I show man’s desire to control its environment and his incapability to do so. However, the ballet isn’t meant to be moralistic. I don’t want to be pointing fingers. I just want this fourth ballet to be more rich and full than the previous ones." – Johan Inger
