Designers developed load-carrying spacers of various sizes made of sheet steel for the walls of the showcases of the "Das Erbe – die Ausstellung zum Bergbau" exhibition in the Saarland. The spacers consist of two parts with a vertical profile. It was possible to ideally adapt the hammer and pick shape to glass holders and thereby bring the omnipresent symbol of miners throughout the world to the visual forefront in addition to serving a technical purpose. Thanks to laser-cutting technology, symbols can easily serve as impulses for the design of fittings – this is the fourth attempt after the three Krupp rings, the Star of David and the Gothic quatrefoil had served this purpose before.
