Longhorn cowfish

Specimen from the Philippines. In 1887, an Overseas Museum-Library (Museo Biblioteca de Ultramar) was established in the Palacio de Velázquez exhibition hall in Madrid's Retiro Park (Parque del Retiro), to take advantage of the collections sent for the Philippine Exposition, which was held in the city. When it closed in 1908, the natural history specimens were incorporated into the MNCN collections.
