Look 20, IAMISIGO, Spring / Summer 2019

Look 20 from IAMISIGO Spring / Summer 2019 collection ‘Gods of the Wilderness’ at Lagos Fashion Week 2018 took masquerade as its inspiration. This collection focused heavily on weaving methods from the Northern region of Nigeria. The collection features a vibrant mix of dyed woven cotton as is customary with masquerades across Africa and further following this theme with unfinished hems and fringing. IAMISIGO is a fashion label that seeks to create a striking awareness of how African culture can be fused with an audacious yet minimal design aesthetic. With visually textured fabrics and defined silhouettes, IAMISIGO is a tribute to the women who wear the designs. The brand works with materials and artisans across Africa to highlight natural and traditional fabrication across the continent.
