Look into a washroom ("Waschkaue")

Such washrooms stored the private clothing of the miners during their shifts. Individual articles were hung from a chain below the ceiling. A differentiation is often made between so-called white and dark coops ("Weißkaue" and "Schwarzkaue"), which stored the miner's pit clothing and their everyday clothing separately.
