The disturbing story of Lot and his family is reccounted in the Book of Genesis. After witnessing the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot’s wife was turned into a pillar of salt. Lot's daughters, fearing that the family would die out, plied the old man with wine and seduced him. In a dark cave, one daughter holds a large metal wine-vessel with a handle in the shape of a male torso. Lot, old and bearded, turns amorously to the other daughter and places his hand on her shoulder while holding a goblet full of wine. She leans back and stretches out her hand towards the goblet as if urging her father to drink, her drapery falling away to reveal her breasts.
