Portrait of the italian Soprano Luigia Boccabadati (1800-1850), dressed as Lucrezia Borgia in Gaetano Donizzeti's homonymous opera.

It was in this role that Boccabadati first sang in Lisbon, in 1840, at the Teatro of S. Carlos. She also had a role in Rossini's opera "La Cenerentola", performed at the Teatro das Laranjeiras.

Boccabadati made her professional debut in 1817, ending her career in 1844. Between 1829 and 1831, in Naples, she appeared in the world premiere of five operas composed by Donizetti.
