China National Silk Museum

China National Silk Museum
Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China

These garments would have been worn by a young woman during the Song dynasty, and are made of plain luo gauze. The most valuable detail is the button at the middle of the front opening, made of the same material as the facing of the gown. It is the earliest button ever discovered in China.
