The “crackerjack” is a nickname for the formal uniform of U.S. Navy enlisted personnel. Uel Smith, a crew member of the submarine Growler in 1958–1960, had this uniform custom-made to look identical to a U.S. Navy–issued uniform. Inside, it is decorated with rainbow embroidery.
