Maasai Lions

The Masai Lion (Panthera leo massaicus) is found in East Africa. Lions are the only large cats that live and hunt in prides. Even in historic times, lions still occurred from North Africa to India and in Greece. In many cultures, the lion symbolizes power and strength; therefore, it is depicted on the coat-of-arms of many noble families.
