Three-masted, square-rigged wooden model of the frigate, MACEDONIAN. Mounted on the base is a small gilt-painted wood plaque with inscription: U. S. Frigate / Macedonian / 1812. The model was apparently bought by FDR at the sale of the Carey Collection at the Anderson Galleries, New York City, in March 1922 for $210. It is not known definitively how or when the President acquired it, except that he had it as early as 1924. This model was once on display in the East Sitting Hall of the Family Living Quarters of the White House. Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library Museum Collection.
