“Madonna” bears the pattern number “A1125” but the Meissen mark appears on the back near the base. In addition there is mark “Weiβ” indicating that the piece is white, glazed but unpainted. “Madonna” stands out with its stylisation and laconism. The elongated and gently deformed forms, the bowed head and right hand raised in a blessing emphasise inner peace and spiritual power. Only a few copies of this figure were produced and it is now a great rarity.
