“Quadrupede”(Quadruped) was created in 1994 at the Giardino dei Bucintori, the first factory we occupied. Having started out as a drawing, it then became a three-dimensional object which we can find in real life or “make artificially.”
It has different senses to those of a human being. We can identify them by empathizing with it, either on a metaphysical level or through hidden senses. The “Maghi” (Sorcerers) were created in 1998 at Cime Tempestose, the second factory we occupied. Having created previous versions using modelling clay, play-doh and clay painted with oils, in 2018 we made the first “Maga” out of tuff stone from Noto in Sicily. The two in this installation were made from Lecce stone, as were the quadrupeds and column. So far, we have not experienced them long enough to know what it is they want to tell us.
