20 pattern-woven strips joined selvedge to selvedge by whip stitching to create a larger cloth; the warp in most strips is arranged with a central gray stripe flanked by repeating close narrow black and white stripes, these flanked by wide black stripes; the primary warp is black; two strips have a different warp-of gray, orange and green stripes separated by narrower stripes of red white and black; most of the strips are comprised of closely spaced blocks of weft faced patterning (various stripes and checks) throughout the central portion of their length; brocaded geometric patterns and symbols are present among the weft faced patterning in six of the strips; passages of plain weave (devoid of weft faced patterning) are present at the ends of most strips, creating dark striped borders at the top and bottom of the cloth when the strips are joined. The two outer-most side strips use weft faced patterning less densely, and appear as dark ground borders along both sides; among the strips with the black striped ground is one (5th in from one side) that carries the closely spaced weft patterning all the way to one end; the two stripes with different wefts are oriented in a book-matched fashion and carry the weft faced patterning their entire length of the strips; the differently warped strips are the 2nd and 3rd in from one side; colors used for all weft faced patterning include orange, red, black, white, yellow, green, gold, gray; teal and purple; some blocks of weft faced patterning were woven with two different colors concurrently and appear as heathered bands creating optical mixtures as though the yarns are marled; two-color combinations include: purple with teal, orange with gray, orange with white, yellow with white, red with yellow, and red with green; the top and bottom edges of the cloth are finished with a narrow turned and stitched hem.
