19 pattern-woven strips joined selvedge to selvedge by whip stitching to create a larger cloth; warp arranged in fine yellow and white stripes; primary weft is yellow resulting in blocks of yellow and white striped plain weave interspersed with bands of warp faced stripes and checks in dark blue, white, red, orange, black, green and chartreuse; some wide bands of weft faced striping use red and blue weft elements concurrently; placement of the patterned bands has been planned to create an elongated checkerboard-type effect when the strips are joined selvedge to selvedge; the two outer-most strips on each side are less densely patterned with banding than those towards the middle of the cloth, as are both ends of all of the strips; this results in lighter boarders around all for edges and a more densely patterned center portion of the cloth when the strips are joined; both top and bottom edges are turned and hemmed by whip stitching.
