I was invited to a wind turbine blade factory in eastern Ontario, Canada, to photograph how these massive blades are built. What surprised me most is that each blade is built completely by hand - many hands. Here, a composite worker (wearing a respirator mask with particulate filters) sands the edge of a wind turbine blade before the blade is sent for painting (again, by hand).
