Purple patterned silk trimmed with black velvet. The mantle has double capes (the upper and smaller cape is of velvet) and long tight sleeves. The front is cut straight down and turns back on each side. The back is pleated. The pattern of the fabric is a close vertical pattern of wavy leafy stems of fern-like (or seaweed-like) character. The mantle is lined with silk of a similar colour and is padded.
