Weston Park

Weston Park
Weston-under-Lizard, United Kingdom

This is the first surviving map to show the Park at Weston as it appeared in the generation after Capability Brown's work. It indicates that many of the proposals of Capability Brown's 1760s map were enacted upon. The House ('Hall'), Temple of Diana ('Temple') and Pink Cottage ('Cottage') are all clearly shown, as are the Walled Garden above the House and Capability Brown's pleasure grounds of Shrewsbury Walk (left of House) and Temple Wood (right of House). A former drive, which entered the Park from the road at lodge gates and then crossed the Roman Bridge at the east end of Temple Pool, can be seen on the right hand side of the map
