The chapel presents 17th century inlaid marble panelling and altar. A Portuguese work inspired by the decorative marbles of the Italian churches, traditionally named “Florentine mosaic”. This inlaid marble work, highly qualified for its technical and artistic merit, combines botanical and anthropomorphic motifs. This stonework was conceived by João Antunes, architect, and executed by the stone masters Manuel Antunes and João Teixeira, and completed in 1690.
