"When Gregory Peck first came to the Playhouse he was a gangling young man in his twenties, clear and etched, very pure and very handsome. He was very hungry too. Not only for his classes, but in need of a good meal. I asked him if he had enough to live and he mentioned a small sum, barely enough to subsist on. When I asked what he really needed, he mentioned an equally small amount. It was just like Greg.
