Funerary head in flat and discoid form, modelled in clay and subsequently covered with black slip. It reflects the Akan beauty ideal with a long neck, on which folds of fat appear, and what appears to be a pendant in the lower part. The face, totally flat, presents a serene and worthy expression appropriate to the aristocracy, with somewhat prominent eyes reduced to a longitudinal line and a closed mouth. As is habitual in Akan sculpture, scarifications are observed, barely marked, on the cheeks and temples. This same scheme would be repeated in the commemorative funerary sculptures of other peoples owing to the Ashanti influence, as occurs with the Agni.
