Matthew Ball, Head Gardener

A photograph of Matthew Ball (1817-1905) in old age on a path between blossom-laden trained fruit trees, possibly his daughter in the distance. Ball was the Head Gardener to Lord Templemore at Stagenhoe Park in Hertfordshire. Undated, but perhaps c.1900.
