Maté tea bowl mounted on a silver stand. A picture of Franklin D. Roosevelt is on one side of the bowl (which is a carved gourd) and on the opposite side is a gold star. Carved gourd signed: "G. Jimenez, Caacupé, Paraguay." Comes with silver-plated straw with a bowl shaped end with several small holes, perhaps to filter tea leaves and decorated with a leaf design on the handle. Presented to FDR in May 1943 by General Higinio Morinigo, President of Paraguay. FDR Library Museum Collection, MO 1944.2.1 & MO 1944.2.2.
