Mechanical parts related to SPS shown at the Open Day

CERN was open to the general public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, 15 September. It was considered appropriate that the public was given opportunity to visit the CERN installations at a time when the Organization was celebrating its Thirtieth Anniversary. The Open Day was organized along the same lines as the 1982 event. Visitors were able to choose their own programme from a general list or 'menu' of optional visits which was handed to them on their arrival.
