Medic’s helmet

War Memorial of Korea

War Memorial of Korea
Seoul, South Korea

This metal helmet was worn by soldiers and officers of the military for training, ceremonies, and duty. Until the 1980s, what was called a “fiber” was underneath the helmet. Since then, the “fiber” has been done away with, and the helmet was redesigned with special materials to provide protection against enemy rifle fire. This helmet is rusted and dented, with bullet marks.
*Fiber: Hat worn by soldiers underneath their helmets.
