The Grand-Pré Memorial Church was built in 1922 by the Acadian community as a memorial to the Deportation. Grand Pré is the iconic place of remembrance of the Acadian diaspora. Its memorials form the centre of the symbolic re-appropriation by the Acadians of their former lands.
