Per the artist description on Flickr: "Prehistoric life has always fascinated me, both the small and the large examples of it. This painting concentrates on the larger examples. These are "fragments" of creatures that lived prior to the Cretaceous-Tertiary mass extinction (65 mya.). One of the few animals represented in full is the one that takes up the majority of the canvas, a very famous type of dinosaur whose name need not be mentioned for it's easily recognizable to all."
