Mice Milking

1960

Documents the process in which Australian scientists milk mice with special machinery in the fight against cancer.
*Warning* Some scenes may disturb. Animal restraint shown.
The milk is then given to the American Cancer Council who use it to research cancer treatment. A mouse attached to the milking machine looks quite bizarre. One mouse yields a third of a teaspoon of milk per milking session. Good footage of the machine in action.
'Mice Milking', Victorian Department of Agriculture (1960) is just one of the many films we are digitising. Discover more about the process on our website.
