This paperweight is one of Gillinder's most exquisite with delicate, subtle color, a central cane featuring a silhouette of a woman in profile, and expert faceting. The design is called a carpet ground because of the close arrangement of glass canes that form a carpet-like pattern. Interestingly, this weight is from the former collection of Oscar Wilde.
