The Bombay, Baroda, and Central India Railway (BB&CI) Company was incorporated in 1855 to construct a railway line between Bombay and Vadodara in India, The first line was commissioned in 1864. BB&CI operated the first suburban railway in India in 1867, between Virar and Colaba, a station in Bombay Backbay.
