Modern Dai-style Umbrella Picture 1

This item is characteristic of the umbrellas used by the Dai ethnic minority group living in the southwest of China. With a bamboo shaft, a red wood handle and a green ferrule, and stretchers covered with red and green silk threads, this Dai-style umbrella is equipped with a red-edge yellow-ground canopy embellished with auspicious paintings of magpies on the branch of a plum blossom tree, and a motif combination of chayote and flowers.
