Modern Profiles of the Doric, Ionic & Corinthian Orders

In this plate, T. Sheraton and J. Pass contrast capitals, and entablatures of the three Greek orders of columns. Fig. 1 depicts the simplicity and clean lines of the Doric order, while Fig. 2 gives way to the curves and softer lines of Ionic. In Fig. 4, the intricacies of the Corinthian order can be seen in additions such as the medallion and olive leaves.
