This armour was worn by Akitomo, the 12th and last lord of the Yanagawa domain. Its inscription plates read “Myochin Kunisada, living in Yanagawa”. Kunisada learned from the Myochin family who served as an armour maker of the Tokugawa shogunate in Edo (Tokyo). After obtaining an armourer’s license, he likely returned to his hometown where he was employed by the Yanagawa domain. The history of the armours in the Tachibana family ends up with this armour.
