This type of vessel was commonly used by Mongol soldiers, so it is often called a “Mongol bottle.” Many similar vessels were excavated from the Sinan shipwreck, a sunken Yuan Chinese merchant ship off the coast of Sinan. In addition, a specimen with an iron lid was found at the Hallim-ri site in Jeju-si.
