Monte San Giorgio - First sunrays of dawn striking Morcote

The first rays of the raising sun are illuminating the path going from the Morcote, Ticino, Switzerland up to the village's Church Santa Maria del Sasso. The picture has been taken only four days after summer solstice, indicating an astronomical relation with the alignment and the construction of the path. The solstitial lines constitute the oldest and longest-lived routes in the area and configure its fundamental structures.
