Chinese porcelain brush-rest from the Zhengde period (1506-1521), with bluish-green glaze. Symmetrically modelled as five stylized mountain peaks, raised on a shaped plinth, underside pierced twice with dumbbell motif. Decorated in underglaze blue with a dense ground of scrollwork centering a roundel. There are details of the plinth outlined with a ruyi motif and scrollwork.
