MS Foale performs maintenance on middeck

S103-E-5184 (21 December 1999) --- Astronaut C. Michael Foale, mission specialist, performs a minor maintenance task on the mid deck of the Earth-orbiting Space Shuttle Discovery.
The long rectangular structure near Foale's head is the escape pole, which has been standard equipment on the shuttle fleet since 1988. The photo was recorded with an electronic still camera (ESC) at 10:39:31 GMT, Dec. 21, 1999.
